The TJcpartmcnt of Agriculture lins received the following cablegram, dated Mfiy 29, from the High Commissioner for New-Zealand, London:— "Rutter—No change in price for butter under Government control, but reduction anticipated, owing to large Bupply and decreasing price home produced. Price English butter irregular, ranging from 2s. 4d. to 3s. 4d. wholesale. At twenty-one markets the average price is 2s. lid. Moderate supplies Irish coming forward; factory <£11 Is., .£l3 Is.; creamery, .£l4, £15 ss. Bd. "Cheese under Government control: Wholesale, Is. 5Jd.; retail, Is. Bd. Maximum fixed price retail removed in case of all imported cheese with the exception of Government supplies. _ Demand for English restricted, and prices lower, with fairly large supplies. Cheddars, .Is. 7d.. Is. Bd. Canadian quotations, c.i.f. further declined; £8, <£8 ss. "Hemp—Manila market steady, nnd fair business' doing. "J" grade JulySeptember and August-October shipments Gold i(is; February-April to May-July shipments now quoted - .£O3. New Zealand market continues dull. _ Sellers quoto Highpoints, spot <£59; fair, • JCSG; February-April shipments, =£34, <£52 respectively. . "Honey—Market very quiet. Low grade selling slowly.
