DEATH OF MAX WAPPER
. INQUEST OPENED. Mr. W. G. Eiddell S.M., held an inquest yesterday afternoon into the cause of death of Max Wappcr, a fireman and a Russian, whose body was found in the yard of Young's Privato Hotel on Saturday. Dr. M'Evcdy, who mado the post-mortem examination, said there were abrasions upon the less and upon the right side of the forehead and face. The interior of the skull showed extensive fracture radiating from a superficial wound above the right eye back to the right ear and acrusfl to the left ear. Death was duo to fracture of the skull caused by a very considerable force-cither by a blow or a fall-but tho fact that abrasions were found upon the angle of the jaw, the forehead, and the side of tho face 'indicated that the mffi.'s head had struck something. Had he fallc'i from a height and struck the edge of the roof of a shed in the yard the injuries might be accounted for.
