SALE OF A HOUSE
BUYER GETS' VERDTCT FOR .£250 DAMAGES. The sjrit cf George William Grundy against George Taylor Goodwin for £150 damages on account of alleged false representation, was; concluded in the Supreme Court yesterday with the return of a verdict for plaintiff for .£250. The claim arose out of plaintiff's purchase of a bouse from defendant. Plaintiff alleged that defendant, knowing ■there' was, borer in . the house,-said there was none, and thereby induced the purchase. The hearing of evidence and counsel's addresses occupied- two days, and the jury of. four spent two hours in deliberating upon their verdict. When tho verdict was delivered, MrJustice Edwards eranted the re'auest of counsel for. defendant (Mr. A. Gray. K.C.) that execution be,stayed for 14 days to enable defendant to move for a trial. Mr.' T. Young represented the plaintiff. Mr. Gray had with Mm Mr, ;R. Kennedy as junior counsel.
