MURDER OF CARRANZA
PRELIMINARY INQUIRY BLAME PLACED DEFINITELY UPON HERRERO By Telegraph—Preßs Aseociatipn—Copyright Mexico City, May 28. Tho committee appointed by General Obregon to make preliminary inquiry into the death of President Carranza reports that, after a formal investigation to clear up mysterious features, the committeo is satisfied that it is proven that Herrero knew where Carranza slept, and that he assisted in placing sentinels, but loft later for a near-by village. At 3 o'clock the hut was attacked from, all sides. "Carrapza was heard shouting: "I cannot get up; my leg is broken." He begged for a carbine with which to defend himself, but immediately another volley through tho walls of tho hut killed him. Great confusion occurred. Herrero captured 60veral of tho attackers, and forced four of these to sign a statement that CarrnnEa committed suicide. Tho committee appears to place the blamo definitely upon Herrero—Router.
