/ KARORI CLUB. Tho members of the Karori Rifle Club fired the mat-ch (or the Wilnnghby Cud at tho Trcntham range on Saturday. This cup is fired for under service condition*. Tho result of tho match was a tie between President H. Mnnha.ll and Rflmn. A. S. T. Butler, but in the shoot-off IMlmn. Butler proved the winner, the scores being 17 to 12. Rflmn. Butler thus becomes the holder of the Cup for the ensuing twelve months, and winner of the first prise. Presidont H. Marshall scouring Hie occond prize. The following am tho highest A. 8. T. HILJJY OUP COMPETITION. At Polhill Gully on Saturday the. annual competition for Colonel Hile'y's Cup was held by the Railway Engineers. This cup !b awarded to the member of tho local Railway Engineers making the highest score in classification practices of musketry course. After an exceedingly interesting match the winner was found to be Sergeant Hester, of No. 7 Company, who will hold, the cup for another year and receive a gold- medal. Lieutenant Dayman, of the Bame company, was run-ncr-np, and will receive a silver medal; The standard of shooting this year was very high, and "possibles" were registered by Lieutenant Dayman and Sergeant Hester in the Snap Match nt 200 yards. In the Rapid Matoh Sergeant Hester only managed to lire eight rounds within tho minute time limit,, but sccurod clyht "bull'seyoß." Conditions; J rounds application, 5 roundß sn&p (sseos.), 10 rounds rapid (lmln.), and 5 roundß snap (6sec.). Nt 200 yards, and 5 rounds application at 500 yards. Service. sights. No slings or rests.
