HATAITAI MUNTCIPAL ' ELECTORS
ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The annual inciting of fhR Hataitai Municipal Electors' Association' was held last night, Mr. A. Leigh Hunt presiding. Mr. Hunt, referring to various matters mentioned in thei annual report, expressed the hope that in the near future a proper playground will be made for the children. He was confident that when tho time cc-mes a tunnel could be run through Mount Victoria, and a tunnel which would not only serve Hataitai but other districts as well. The City Engineer was a strong man, and he had made a plan for opening the suburbs,' and it would be a hard job to get him to depart from these plans, but lie was quite confident of success. Mr, Hunt also spoke on the subject of the Town Planning Association, and the work it is doing. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. A. L'. Hunt; vicepresidents, Messrs, A. D. Bayfield, W. ,T. G.iudin and W. Bear; committee, Messrs. Oarthie, Buckmaster, H. Tolan, A. ,T. Barnett, 11. D. Edwards, J. Howling, A .T. Lankshear, P. Crearar. H. Burt. 11, Setirle, L. A. Clark, P. Easson, A. Batt, W. Travers, and J. J. Foil; lion, secretary, Mr. J. L. A reus; hon. auditor, Mr. H. Amos. I)uriD<r the evening various songs were contributed by Mip? Buckmaster, and Messrs: Bear, Bowling, and Fielding. The accompanists were Mrs. Tolan and Miss Fielding.
