VIEWS OF JAPANESE PRESS ON " RENEWAL OF ALLIANCE AUSTRALIA'S SUSPICIONS By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright London, May 22. The question of tlie renewal of tho Anglo-Japanese Alliance is attracting increasing attention in the Japanese newspapers, particularly tho views of Australia. According to tho Osaka newspaper "Asahi," there is a considerable body of opinion in Japan which 'believes that the collapse of ftussia and the existence cf the League of Nations removes the necessity for a renewal of the Alliance. Tho "Asahi" recognises that the views of the Dominions must be lespected by Britain. It expresses regret that the war cxperienco lias not allayed Australia's suspicions, and lias not resulted in a modification of the White Australia policy.—Aus.-N.Z. Cnble Assn.
