AGRICULTURE IN BRITAIN
MAIN FEATURES OF NEW BILL. (Eec. May 23, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 21, A new Agricultural Bill has been introduced in the House of Commons. Its main principles consist of guaranteed prices for wheat and oats to be fixed annually and ft minimum wage for farm labourers. Tho State in return is empowered to control cultivation in certain directions with a view to making the best use of cultivable land. The Bill increases the security of tho farmers* tenure by awarding compensation for disturbance on a greatly increased scale. -Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
