LYALL BAY SCHOOL
DISPUTED COMMITTEE ELECTION.
An inquiry was held last night by tho Executive of the Wellington Education Board into a petition by a section of householders in the Lynll Bay school district'for tho voiding of the recent school committee election by tho annual mooting of householders of tho district. It was allegod that there were irregularities in the election, and in tho conduct, of tho meeting. Tho chief complaints wore that the chairman of the committee took tho chair at the meeting of -householders, refusing to allow the meeting to oleot a chairman, and that the ballot papers were distributed' in such a way as to permi' of double- voting and other malpractices. The petition camo before tho board at last meeting, and tho executive was instructed to hold an inquiry. This inquiry was held last night. It was not open to the Tress. At the conelusion of tho meeting the chairman (Mr. T. Forsvtht announced that a special meeting "of the board in committee will be held on Monday week at 4.30 p.m. to receive tho report of fche executive.
