In the Magistrate's Court to-day two men, David Millin and Kenneth Newlands, were separately chargcd with four offences arising out of raids on Chinese fruit shops on tho night of April 17. Both were committal for trial on tho ch'ief charge of doing wilful damage, estimated at m Tho other charges uro to be dealt with summarily later. Bail , was fixed at one surety of <£25. Three boys were dealt with in connection with the raid, ono was s»nt to W eraroa, and the second was convicted, and given probation. The third case was adjourned, but the boy is to bo under supervision for three months.
