The Austialian Press Association learns that satisfactory assurances have noiv bee'i received from M. Tchitcherin regarding the safety of the remnants of Denikin's army in the Crimea. Peace negotiations will be opened immediately between Wrangle's representatives and Bolsheviks—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BOLSHEVIK ADVANCE FROM CASPIAN ALARM IN PERSIA, (IJec. May 20, 11.10 p.m.) London, May 19. Dispatches from Teheran indicate that much alarm was caused owing to the Bolshevik advance from the Caspian., It is known that - the Bolsheviks had coi.oeittrated a considerable force on tho shore of the Caspian since the fall of Baku and the seizure of Denikin's slups. The situation is aggravated owing to the 'Anglo-Persian agreement not beiny _ yet in full operation. A small British military mission is engaged in reorganising Persia's military systeii., but little progress has been made yet. It is admitted that British prestige has suffered a setback and the situation is regarded with anxiety, particularly in view of tho proximity of Teheran to the zone of Bolshevik influ-ence.—Aus.-N.Z.
