La Trobo, Superintendent of Technical Education, and the ohairman of the section, read a pap»r on , Technological Education. After a few introductory remarks on the general probL em . of , 'echnological education Mr. La Trobe dealt with tho facts as far as they concerned New Zealand. He said tliat education at the present time was in the . melting-pot as it' wore. Great developments had taken place in the Old Country. University education in Britain was beconung more democratic now. and that meant that tno universities would enter more close y into the life of tho people than they had hitherto done.
