COAL SHORTAGE
CRITICAL POSITION IN ADELAIDE. ' . Adelaide, May 18. A deputation of coal consumers asked the Premier to move to relieve the coal shortage, caused by the shortage of shipping on the coast. It was stated that thi) Gas Company had snpplieg for only six days, and that if the Railway Department had not mado special arrangements to procure coal, all the pub-, lie services and industrial concerns wouli have been paralysed. .
