BOXING

The contest between ■ "Fritz" Holland and "Tommy" Uren is expected to prove a very open affair. Holland, who is an American,.has a very good recordlie bas fought Les Darcy, winning twß contests and losing two, and has gainefl victories over "Knock-out" Brown, Moyd. Lester, and Frank Mantell. He has done little, however, this year; but what he has done-has put him in good training for his battle to-night. He has' lost ono and drawn one contest with Harry Stone since February. Stone was conceding his opponent 231b., but it must :b'e remembered that Stone is tho cleverZest and fastest light-weight in ;Australia. Holland can be n. cool, determined boxer when he likes, but now and again ho t-oarß after his opponent with swings and hooks. Uren's record for the past few months is too well known to followers of the art here to need emphasising. He ' Ims won all his contests, in the Dominion, excepting a draw with Clabby; but j vt must be remembered that he has not;' met any worthy mettle savo Clabby, and Clabbv and he have fought so, many I battles now that they are trained to one | another's stylo to perfection. From all ~ appearances, the contest should be one , well worth' seeing, for both boxers are : exponents of the fast, vigorous style of, boxing. ■ !
