The builders' position at Marseilles is serious. The Government discussed the situation to-day. M. Millerand states that it is proposed to prosecute the officials of tin General Workers' Confederation, round which is grouped not the trades unions, but au illegal body waiting to overturn established Government—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.' CHECKINGSTRIKES SAFEGUARDING- AUSTRALIAN * SHIPBUILDING. Sydney, May 12. Tha Federal executive of the Federated Society of Boilermakers and Shipbuilders has decided that any member or branch striking without the consent -' of the executive will lxs Tefused assistance. It also resolved that no member /employed in the shipbuilding industry carried on under agreement with tho Commonwealth Government shall on 1 .any account cease work, and that all . disputes shall be referred to special tri- ' bunals appointed for that purpose.— 1 Aus.-N.Z.
