(Kec. May 6, 0.25 a.m.)
I , r London, May 4. Mr. D. B. Hall, who was appointed by the Holman Government to <act aa Agent-General for New • South • Wales, lias arrived in London. Interviewed by the Australian Press Association, he said lie had had 110 further communication from the Storey Government. He was unable to understand- the cancellation of his appointment. , He had. no wish ti say anything which would advertise New South Wales as a country which did not respect its contracts, but so far as he knew there was no precedent anywhere for euch treatment. Questioned whether he contemplated action against the Government, he said he believed the latter had a right to plead that tin King had a right to break a contract, whatever its character. Sucli ft right was rarely if ever exerc : sed, certainly never in connection with such an appointment as his.—Aus.-N.Z. Gable Assn.
