EARLY SETTLERS' PAGEANT
'Everything is now ready for. tho historical pageant of tho landing of> tho first settlers at Petone, and tho function will take place to-morrow afternoon on tho beach at the junction of Buick Street and tho Esplanade. Complete arrangements have been mado to ensure that tho 6ceno will be as much liko the original landing as possible, and givfln suitable weather it should bo worth witnessing. A choir of children will sing patriotic songs when tho Prince is present, and a programme of sports has been arranged to interest spectators until the distinguished guest arrives, and after he has gone. As a good deal of motor traffic is expected, arrangements have lx?en made for the "parking" of vehicles in Elizabeth Street, .the northern end of JBuick Street, and in tho Recreation Ground, and tho police will direct tho traffic to these places.
