A BIG LAND SLIDE
1 CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE IN BULLER GORGE. " By 'l'eleirranh-Prean Association Westport,. April 23. A big land slide in the Duller' Gorge lias apparently completely destroyed the . famous fern arch. There appears to bo at least. 2000 yards in the slip, including some big blocks of conglomerate stone, and the work of removal will bo difficult and dangerous. A bridge was smashed by the fall of earth and 6tone and some four or five telegraph poles were engulfed. It is though): that light mail matter may be got through to-morrow, but it will be some time next week before the road is clear for traflje.' In the meantime cars will run to either side of the slip and passengers, may take the risk'of a, climb over the debris. It would, however, appear to be unwise for'lady passengers to attempt to come through yet, nnd tho passengers that do come will require to travel light.
