A meetinp of the comniitteo that is making arrangements for tho ball to be held in honour of tho visit of the Prince of Wales wan held in the Mayoress s ■room at the Town Hall yestorday afternoon.'' The honorary secretary reported that thero hnd been a great demand for tickets for the ball, and after .some discussion it was considered desirable that all applications for such should, bo sent in without further delay, in view of the arrangements that had to be macifl in regard to numbers. Mrs. J. Hannah outlined the scheme of decoration that had been decided upon, which promises to be; altogether ordinal and charming. Special arrangements are to bo made in regard to lighting, and Mrs. Hannah and Mr. Oakley Browne, in conjunction with Mr . bcoullar, will confer with the electrical engineer, Mr. Lauchlan, in regard to suggested arrangements. All glaring liglits will be avoided. An offer had been received from Mr. Hamilton (of the Dominion Museum) to lend the Maori Pa at the Museum for plating m Hie entrance vestibule of tho hall, with weapons, etc. The moeting greatly appreciated the oiler and considered that a unique effect wouldbe secured. The offer was accepted, but with no responsibility attached. Mr A. E. Whvte renorted that ho hart conferred with Mr. Shout in regard to the supper, and an outline was given of what had been proposed. The committee- agreed that the supper bo left in the hands of Mr. Shout. § Miss Nathan, Mr. Oakley Browne, Wth Mr Whyto and the secretary, were appointed ii sub-committee w> arango for the distribution of programmes. Mr Tripe and a sub-committee were appointed to regulate the passage of people into the ballroom, and Mr. Whyto and the secretaiy to arrange for attend, nuts, door staff, etc. It was proposed that all members of the comniitteo of the ball that was held in honour of Lord Jellicof/s visit should, if not already members of the present committee, be added to their number for tho ball of the fifth, and also, if they aTC Willing, tlwt the names of Messrs. 0. S. Watlcins and V. Riddifonl bo included. , . ~ Badges will bn worn by members ot the committee, and a design shown bv Mrs. Sleeman was approved of, Mrs. bleenisn undertaking to make nil that are needed.
