Storo cattle: There wns a much Toduccd yarding of Tather poor quality. Cows suitable for canning purposes were quito neglected. Bulla and your.g cattle also lacked buyers' attention. The only class which maintained late rates were well-Brown steers in good forward condition. Sheep: There was a large yarding (4118), tho bulk 'of which waa of poor quality, few very prime sheep being forward. Tor nil prime quality wethers and ewes competition was at an advance of Is per head, wlule inferior and unfinished Were neglected, and showed a decline of 2s. to 3s. per head, compared with last week's Kites. Extra prime heavy-weight wethers brought 50s. 3d. to 525. 9d.; prime, 425. Gd. to 48s. 4d.; medium, 375. to 415.; light and unfinished, from 30s. up. A few specially selected heavyweight ewes brought 48s. to_ 535. j prime, 38s. 6d. to 41s. 9d.; medium, 31ff. to 355.: light and aged, from 235. up. 3?nt lamb?: There was a good yarding (11G9) of fail" quality. Owing to the local freezing works being congested, freezing buyers wero not keen operators, in coiiseauence of which the salo was of a dragging nature, and prices receded fully 2s. Gd. per head on late rates. Values ranged from 16s. to 30s. per head. Pigs: Only medium number penned, and prices were again easier. Baconers mado from Od. to 10Jd. per lb. for best, and porkers from 9£d. to lid.
