Prices eased considerably for fat cattle, freezing buyers not operating, but the fat sheep and lamb demand was arm. and recent rates were maintained. Store sheep —Tho yarding was smaller than at recent Bales. The market was much improved for all classes, particn[arlT for wethers, of which there was <i bigger proportion than usual forward. Tho excellent feed prospects throughout Canterbury are having a stabilising effect on the store market. Forward lambs mado 19s. fid, to 245. Gd.; ordinary, 15s. 6d. to 195.; cull, 10s. to 12s. 6d. Good- e.wo lambs made 28s. 9d.; ordinary, 18s. 9d, to 255. Gd. Good two-tooth cwea made to 325. Gd.; ordinary, 255. to 28s. Gd.; two, four, six, and eight-tooth owes, 255. 9d. to 825.; four and five-year ottos, 20.?. to 275.; failing-mouthed, 18s. Gd. to 235.; good four, six, and eiglittooth ewes,- to 38s. Id.; sound-mouthed ewes, 225. Gd. to 30s. Gd. Good four, six, and eight-tooth wethers made 40s. to 315.; inferior, 2fis. to 2Ss. Gd.; good twotooth wethers, to 305.; inferior, to 255. Fat lambs— 2700 yarded, compared with 4300 last week. The salo was on a par with recent ones, freezing buyers securing the bulk of the entry. Extra prime lambs brought from 335. Gd. to 415.; prima, 275, Gd. to 32a. Gd.'; medium, 255. to 275. 3d.; lighter, 21s. Gd. to 24.?. 9d. Fat sheep.—The market was good throughout. . Froezing buyers operated to a considerable extent. Extra prime wethers made 455. 6d. to 535. Id.; prime, 375. 3d. to 445. 9d.; medium, 31s. 3d. to 3Gs. 9d.;_ lighter, 28s. 9(1. to 30s. 9cL Extra prime ewes mado to 4Gs.; prime, 355. Gd. to 435. Fat cattle—3ss pennod, against 425 penned last week. There -was a, distinct drop in anything Vut prime, and the market was also much easier for best beeves.
