CHILD DIES ON TRAIN

A child named Grossman, aged two years, died on tho second express last night between Frankton Junction and' Te Awamutu. _ The child is reported to have been suffering from whoSping cough, and to have choked. Tho parentis, it is reported, recently arrived from. Canada. Tho body was taken to Taihape.
At last night's meeting of the Victoria College Council it was decided that Mr. Tennant bo recognised as Professor of Education, and. that tho Education Department be urged to provide a salary to Mr. Tennant e<jual to that provided by the collego to its lu'olVssors. Tho original motion wns withdrawn.
