DEFERENCE TO LORD JELLICOE. Br Telegraph-Press Association Auckland, April 21. A civic farewell was tendered the Oovernor-General and tho Countess of Liverpool in the Town HaSl to-night. Thoro was a large attendant. In reply to an address from tba citizens, Lord Liverpool «iid that tho Prince of Wales would vcceivo from none a more whole-hearted welcome than from the New Zealanders, who realised that his only desire, in common with all the members of the RoyaS Family, was to work for the benefit of the community and share in the nation's joys an 4 sgrrows.
