THE TURF

TRENTHAM RACES

ACCEPTANCES FOR TO-DAY

THE FIELDS REVIEWED

The autumn meeting of the Wellington Racing Club will be concluded to-day. As on th'J first day there will be a frequent train uervice from I.anibton Station, starting tit 9.55 a.m. The weather promises fine, and with Rood acceptances the racing should be up to the standard of tho first day. Explorer, winner of the First Hurdles, is up 131b. to-day, but the distance is two furlongs shorter. -Wirokino, ■ Lepanldj Spangle, and Zela are fresh horses, but they do not seem to have much chance, and the positions may be filled by Sensitive and Explorer. In the Hutt Handicap Imaribboii and Risingliam are unlikely starters, and favouritism may laj- between Lingerie, who ran a good race in the Thompson .Handicap, and Trespass, who showed fair form in the open sprint event on Thursday. Tiiunnha was such a strong order on the first day that he is sure to have a big following in tho Muritai Handicap, wbjsh is run over a further distance. Flight Commander and Checkmate will he in the market, more especially if n change of riders is ordered for the Chokcbore three-year-old. Kilntoon is a fresh horse m | the Autumn Handicap, and on his Great Autumn form ho may go out favourite to-day. Imaribboii and Hisinjham will both have a big following. Tlu latter was running on fourth in the Thompson Handicap, and will have a stronger horseman to-day.

The champion two-year-old Humbug is to bo a runner in the Pacific Handicap, six furlongs. He is sure to have many supporters, with Eaceful and Blackmail also well fancied.

M'Flinn is to ride Amythas in the Gold Cup, and his usual pilot, J. Camphall, will steer Vagabond. The three-year-old has too big a pull in the weights ti cause his backers uneasiness. /A very select field of sprinters will .contest the Suburban Handicap. Bindlc has been raised to 9st. 3'.b., which should trouble him, and he may. not be able to concede 51b to Onslaught, who will be better for his race on the opening day. Bon Spec and Hetaua'should both run well. Early Dawn is only a pony, and she has. a big Weight, in the concluding ovent. but, she is very woll, and up the long straight she may assert herself, but Paoamii, runner-up on the first day. and I'arorangi 'should both be prominent.
