. . DUCHESS BEING OVERHAULED. For some time past the officials of the Eastbourno ferry service have been anticipating trouble to the boiler of tha Duchess, and this eventuated on Saturday morning in one of the patches on the forward end developing a serious "blow." The extant of the trouble cannot be ascertained until a portion of the kelson h«fi been removed, which work was ordered by the Marine Inspector, and will bo put in hand immediately. It was quite evident, however, that the "blow" would necessitate the vessel being laid up_ for some time, consequently it was doci.lcd to withdraw her from the service for annual overhaul. The special overhaul time-table is advertised elsewhere.
