NEWTOWN THE' WINNERS.

. , Palmerston North, itpril 9. The final of the' Jlanawntu bowling tourney, after being postponed from yesterday on account of the weather was concluded today.. In spite of tho heavy rain which had fallen, the green was true and fairly last, and the play throughout was of a nigh order, the game finally resulted in a win by four points for Wvllie (Newtown) against Scrivenor (St. John's', "AValignnui).
i. Newtown opened well, and at tho lifth head were two up, but Scrivenor got four points on the-next head. At the 11th head, tho scores wore !) all. Scrivenor got four more on !ho 13th and 14th heads, and held his own until (lie 18Hi head, when .lie was one down. After that he did hot improve, tho game ending 20 to 1G ngiuiist him. .
