After more than ft week continuous sunshine, the Masterton district was visited yesterday by a cola and squally southerly, which brought rain with it. A chance in the weather conditions became imminent about noon yesterday, when the skv clouded over and the atmosphere became oppressive. shortly afterwards warm, heavy showers commenced lo fall, and continued lnteimittently into the night. This. morning the wind', which had been blowing from the north, changed to the south, and cold wintiv weather followed. From 2.30 p.m., yesterday until 9 o'clock, this morning, 1.G4 inches of rain 'vero registered in Masterton, niul 1.6b inches at Solway, a couple of miles away.
