♦ - The tourney to decide tho draughts championship of Australasia is scheduled to commence at Timaru on. Good Friday. This tourney was to have been held last September, 'but the drastic railway cut then in fores necessitated a postponement. It seenus very doubtful"whether any local enthusiasts will be taking part. . The present holder of the titlo is Mr. D. Calderwood, of Huntly, who won it at the last contest, held at Invercargill five years ago.
