He -.will have .to -remain .quiet for at lsast another week, probably longer, hut he should then lie .able to come to his office .daily, although, ft imay be advisable that he should work a litlio shorter day than has been his 'wont. | Mr. Maisey • lias come through tho operation, exceedingly yell, and from the 'first day -has kept his usual cheerful rhnhit-of mind. If lie had thought only of ,hjs io.wii well-being lie should havo had ; Uiis operation performed some i twelve months ago. .'but 'he .was at that 'time iii .Paris, and 'lie' couK not spare the time to lay up for ss' "al weels. When, he came lack to Ni'v Zealand :he 'had to attend to much urg. .1 business, hail to, reconstruct h's Cabinet, had to pet through one of the most strenuous sessions of Parliament ever known, anil at. tho end of it had to fight a very hard election campaign. So that thelopportnnity to go through the .ordeal never lOccmrred until just -lately. The result ,of .tl\is delay ,was that the operation lma to ,be _ more extensive than it woitljl otherwise have been, and now that it is .■over 'Mr. Massey has a fairly larga .cavity in his neck which has to fill slowly ,»;itli tissue before he can iba .pronounced quite sound again. Dh« wound ! has healed normally, and already, all the stitches have been" removed.
