TRENTHAM MILITARY HOSPITAL

TENNIS 'TOUENAMENT.

Yesterday afternbon the patients, find stair of the Trenthani Military Hospital decided the finals of their tennis tournament, which was commenced' recently. The "blue boys," nurses,.and sisters attended in fuli force, and there .was also n very large gathering of local residents. Several, members of the G.H.Q. School attended, and the members of tho.Wellington branch of the British Medical Association who paid a visit to the hospital, were also present. .There were three matches. In the Nursing • Staff Singles Miss C. Beckett (.Red Cross) easily defeated liar sister, Miss M. Beckett (V.A.D), 6-1, 6-0. The singles for disabled patients fell to Corporal Collins, who defeated Private Larking, 9—2. The l)est game of the day was the match between Private Curtis' and Private. Land for the lit patients' singles. After a ■ very strenuous game, Private Curtis won, 9—7. Tea was served during the afternoon by the nursing staff. The recently formed orchestra played selections during the afternoon.

Samples, of the work dese by soldier students in the vocational workshops were shown. The exhibits were exceptionally good and very numerous, and a good trade was done with the visitors.
