At the Supremo Court the Native owners of Repongacro Lake claimed .£SOOO damages from three adjoining European land-holders for trespass in ratting a drain which it was contended had lowered the level of the lake and jeopardised the eel fishery- in connection therewith. Tho jury awarded JCSO damages in respect to injury of the eel fishery and £5 in respect to trespass. - . Hugltie Henry Hamilton was, granted a divorce from Miriam Hamilton on'tho ground of adultery with William D. Connor, against whom the jury gave J£7s damages. Waitohi Whnka wos granted a divorce from Mei' Whaka on tho ground of adultery with Paora Perea, and allowed £250 damages.
