Yesterday .the members of the staff school of instruction at' Trentham Camp held a -tabloid championship athletic meeting. The daywas fine and not too hot, and the meeting proved a great SUCC6S3. J. he following were the standards (the nrst being for Squads 3 and 4, the second for Squads 5 and G, and the-third for Squads 7 and 8) ;-Long jump, 14ft 6m., 12ft Gin., 13ft. Gin.; rope climbing, Hot, 16ft, 17ft; putting the shot, 26ft. Gin., 25ft. Gin.,' 25ft. Gin.;' high jump, iit, 3ft. ,6in., 3ft. 9in.; 3 -forward jumps, 22ft., 20ft. 21ft.; sprint, scr, Byds., scr.; backwards race, all scr.; relay race, scr., 3yds., scr. , Each member of each, team endeavoured to pass the standard, and. the number' failing was subtracted from the strength of the team, the sum left beirig the number of points gained. Thus, out of V squad of 12, three failed »,to clear the high jump standard, giving the team 9 points. In the sprint events the time of the last man replaced the points. . The championship was won easily by Squad 3 (commander, Lieutenant L'ambleyl, with 41 points. Squad 8 (commander,, Lieutenant Hunt) , took second place, 'securing 361 points, with Squad G (Sergeant-Major Meechem) third wjlli 31 points. !'•''. , Detailed results are as follow :—
