Mr W F. England has been Town Clerk of the Karori Borough for very nearly 2G years, and Mr. G. \\. Brrgliam. .has been'the borough engineer .for a period of thirteen years. The services of both these ofticprs will be retained h> the City Council under the scheme ,ot amalgamation. Mr .T B. Struthcrs, who died at Christchcrch on Sunday, came to the Dominion -about seven years ago, and tor •sr.mo time was in business in •Christc.hurch. He took the keenest interest in the Workers' Educational Association, and acted as secretary to that organi.ation from about a year after lis inception until ouite recently. He was also prominent in what is known as t•» lucerne campaign, and he worked lia;<i in conjunction with Mr A. Mather**. Mr H. Bruce, and others to encourage the "rowing of this crop by Canterbury farmers.
