SAUSAGE CASINGS

A DOMINION AGREEMENT. A Dominion agreement has l>een reached between the representatives of the New Zealand Freezing. Workers' and Allied Trades' Federation and representatives of l.lte various saw.-itsre-casing companies. Under the present agreement the rates of pay are: 2s. 2<l. per hour for machine feeders; 2s. Id. per hour for clamors, scrapers, machinists, lank hands, stripmen, vatmen, and motor drivers; and Is. tOd. per hour for bung hands, salters, horse drivers, and learners, and workers not otherwise specified. The casing companies undertook to ray their employers a 10 per cent, increase on the hourly rate of wages, and 7i per cent, increase on contract (including i.vertime) as from March 1, on condition that the e.v'sting agreement, should he adhered to for the term for which it was made.
