EXIT THE RED COAT
OFFICERS* DRESS REGULATIONS,
Although the full dress uniform of the Territorial Force is khaki, with sloucn hat. certain officers of the Staff were entitled to wear red coats on ceremonial occasions before the war. In the case of the Koyal New Zealand Artillery blue wns the recognised colour for full dress. It has now been decided, however, that, for the future, the red and blue full dross and the blue frock coat will bo discontinued as articles of dress by nil officers of the New Zealand Forces. Officers of the Active List of the Territorial Force in possessiqn. of the regulation mess dress, or blue sergo jacket, may wear these on such occasions as dinners, etc,, but the authorities, state .that there is no necessity for Territorial officera to procure any but the khaki service dress. The wearing of white thirta and collars with khaki service dress, when worn as fulll dress, -will be disc:outinued, the khaki flannel shirt with collar to match, and silk khaki tie beingjvorn instead. All officers .or he Defend Forces will wear their badges of ran* on the shoulder straps, but! ° ffi , cel ' s m possession of tunics with the badges on lie cuffs will be permitted to wear them until the* are worn ~ out. JRegimenrol, patches, etc, belonging solely to units of the Expeditionary Force will not be worn in future, as that force has ceased to' exist!
