AN ECONOMIC MOVE
BY THE WELLINGTON EDUCATION BOARD. At yesterday's meeting of the Education Board Mr. J. G. Clarke moved that for "the future the hoard should import its own builder's ironmongery, paint, etc., "as an economic step." Mr C. J. Karkness seconded the motion.'and warmly supported it. It was time the board imported its own goods. Here they were with over 200 schools to look after, and the amount of stuff required for them was very considerable. The profits made out of.the boards pur- , chases locally must be enormous. There , was no reason why tlusy should not retain them instead of handing them over to someone else. The motion was carried.
