POULTRY AND PIGEON BREEDERS
. 9 ANNUAL MEETING 01' SOCIETY. The annual meeting of tho Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, Canary, and Cat Society was held at the Fanciers' Hall last night, Mr. J. Clinic presiding. The report, which was adopted, stated that tho society was in a very healthy state financially. The art union sales (promoted .by'tho Now Zealand Championship Association) were very successful, the returns from Mrs. Peterson, and Messrs. Davey and Currie bo'.ng particularly good. Entries were received from various pails of New Zealand, thanks to tho "fancy" being a happy family onoe again, but ft few unfortunately were cancelled owing to tho railway "cut," although Wellington did not suffer to the great extent that other societies had done. Tho balance,to the credit of the society in tho bank was .068 lis., after nlloltiti"? A'lli in cash specials, placing £6 lGs. in trust to cover trophies, and paving .£5 ss. in "specials" .which had been donated and were not in f-ight, ami increasing the secretary's honorarium by .£lO. Thanks for assistance durin" the year were given to MesdaniM Peterson," Burcli, Bushby, Bernnsconi, Mason, and 'Messrs. Currie, Davey, Thomas, Marriott, Allen, Hall, and Lawrence, to Mr. A. Guthrie for judging, and to Mr. W. B. M'Kenzie (who donated his fee in spec'als), and t" the Government Poultry Instructors (Messrs. Brown and t!usran),'for judging the utility poultry .section; also to the various donors of trophies and those .assisting during the period of the show.
