CASES ON EAST COAST. 'By Telegraph—Press Association.' Gisborne, March 16. The "Herald's"' correspondent at Tokomaru Bay reports that influenza is hecoming- serious on the coast. The Native Land Court has closed at Tikitiki, and there have been three deaths there. The Tokomaru schools have been closed for one week. _ Wairoa,' March 16. Influenza, in a mild form is bad in the vicinity of Nuhaka, Forty-threo cases have been reported by the Health Inspector, who has stopped a hui which was in progress, and closed the schools. The inspector states that the_ outbreak was caused by Natives travelling from other parts to (he hui. Members of tho local, telephone staff are also affected, as are many other people in Wajroa. All.the cases are said to be of a mild 1 character.
