NEW COMMISSIONERS

MR. W. B. MORRIS TO BE CHIEF

The aDDointment of Mr. W. R. Morris, at present Secretary of the Post Office, to be Chief Public Service Commissioner, was announced by the Rrime Minister vesterdnv. , Mr. F. V. Frazer, lately Stipendiary Maffistrate in Wellington, who has been actios as Assistant-Commissioner for some weeks, has been confirmed- in his annointment. Mr. Donald Robertson, the present Chief Public Service Commissioner, is retiring on superannuation at the end of Aoril. his term of appointment ne Commissioner having expired. ' _ Mr A. D. Thomson, Assistant Commissioner. is also retlrifltf. He is almost certain to go back to tho. Morris, who is entitled to the letters 1.5.0. and C.M.G. after his name, entered the service of the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Department itc 1874 "was bom in Dublin 111 1853. and for a few yearn: after leaving ■ school lie served in the accountants branch of the General Post Olhce, Dublin.
