DEMAND' INCREASED PAY

The Wanganui Branch of tho Post and Telegraph Officers' Association passed the following resolutions to-night:— "This meeting is of opinion that tho continual iiwrease in the cost of household necessities is callable of control bv the 'Government, and wets that no apparent effort is miido decisively to grapple with the question. It. calls upon the Executivo Committer io place before the Department and the Government the plight of the majority of officers with small fixed salaries or wages who have to contend with'these rising prices, and to ask (hat substantial increases be granted so as to bring offienrs' incomes up to pre-war spending value." "That in the event of the Government declining to grant immediately tho war bonus promised by Sir Joseph Ward, the. committee be instructed to arrange for •members of the Post and Telegraph Association to take concerted action with the railway employees on any questions relating to increase of pay."
