PETONE FIRE BOARD
QUARTERLY MEETING'.
The 'auarterly meeting of the Petone Tire Board was held yesterday afternoon, when there were present: The clihirman ('Mr. ,T. Wi M'Ewan), und Messrs. J. Kerr. D. S. Bedingfield, C. R. Smith, T. SutclifTe. and D. J. Bcws. The superintendent (Mr. J. Gaynor) reported that during the quarter the brigade had received three calls. An outbreak at the woollen mills had been suppressed by tho prompt action of tho brigade, andl the directors, in recognition of tins offered £10 towards the men's recreation fund. The other two fires were of a minor nature.. The plant was in good order, -and . the conduct of the men more than satisfactory. On Mr. Gaynor's recommendation it was decided to dispose of the old norsedrawn lire-engine. It was decided to grant conditionally the Motor Ambulance Committees reouest that the van be housed at the tiro station. . The secretary reported a credit balance of ,£sl ss. Gd.. and accounts amounting to .£216 9a. 7(1. were passed for payment.,
