The death is announced of Prince Cl:nrtes KinsVy, the sportsman, who steered his mare Zoedono to victory in the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase of 18X3. Statuette met with a slight mishap recently, which prevented her from racing at Wanganui. She has made a good recovery and is nearly all right again. Henriette, the winner of the Kinloch Welter, run at Akaroa, is an imported mare liy Henry the First from Minnie Orme, bv Minstead from Lady Orme. by Ormo. Fiery Cross shewed a lot of his old brilliancy in n five-furlong sprint with Sonic Kid ot Riccarton on Tuesday. Tremena was galloping well in the early stages of the Alcaroa Cup on Saturday, hut she suddenly, dropped back to last and a little further on her jockey dismounted. Examination showed that she had broken her off hind leg, just above the fetlock, and she was destroyed. Tremena, who was by Count Wittf from the Treadmill mare Advance, had some useful performances to her credit.
