STAFF BEING APPOINTED,

Professor Easterfield, the director of the Cawthron Institute, acting with the board of trustees, is gradually assembling round him at Nelson an efficient staff. So far the announced appointments havo been thoso of agricultural chemist, Mr. Theodore ltigg; biologist, Dr. 11. J. Tillyard • mychologist, Miss Curtis, of Auckland; and curator, Mr. AY. G'. Davis, late headmaster of the Carterton School. It is understood that other appointment will be mado very shortly.
