Thfi Minister of Land's (Mr. Guthrie), who has been in the Auckland district, will return to Wellington'to-morrow.
Colonel Robert Logan, C.8., who commanded the Samoan force, and who was afterwards Administrator of Samoa, lms been posted to the retired list, as from December 31, 1919, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform.
Maior Robert Hannah, D.5.0., M.C.,. who is still suffering from the severe wound he sustained in the war, is going. Homo for treatment. Together with his sister. Miss Hannah, ho will leave hern in time to connect with the Ormonde. leaving Sydney on May 15.
Dr. R. J. Tillyard, M.A., B.Sc., will leave for Sydney to-day by the Manuka, preparatory to proceeding to England to atteud the Imperial Entomological Conference on behalf of the New Zealand Government.
The Rev. A. Macdonald Aspland lias accepted a call to. the Ormond Presbyterian Church, near Gisborne. ( Mr. Aspland commenced, his ministry in the Old Country at Nottingham and Wirksworth (Derbyshire). In 1901 he accepted a 1 invitation to the Courtenay Place Congregational Church in Wellington., where ho remained until 1913. when he. undertook the pastorate of Emmanuel Congregational ' Church, Polmorstiin Norm. For the past tiro years Mr. Aspland lias Veen connected with tho Presbyterian Church, undertaking supply work in various centres.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Levin are to leave here nf>xt month to connect at Sydney with tho Orvieto, sailing for Ix>ndon on Mav 1.
The death occurred at his residence on the Terrace yesterday of Mr.'Georgo Mee, Tor manv vears in business as a chemist on Lambton Quay. Mr. Mee, who was verv well-known in Hie city, came out to New Zealand bv tho ship Alpaca in 186fl. For nine years before coming to Wellington he was in business at Hokitilca. In Wellington he purchased a business founded in the parly days by the lute Mr. Bishop, and subsequently erected a building at the foot of Mason's Steus. He retired in 1906. Ho tool?' a leading nart in the work of tho Pharmacy Board, of which he was at one time president.
At n special meeting of the New Zealand Pharmacy Board Mr._E. C. Cacliemnille was appointed Registrar in succession to Mr. Nielsen, who lias resigned after occupying the position for seventeen vears.
Mr. C. S. J. Bolnml, who is attached to the. Consular service in China, is at piesont in Wellington with Mrs. Boland. They are spending twelve, month's' holiday'leave in New Zeala-ud anil Australia, and will leave for Napier to-morrow, en route to Botorna.

Mr. M. E. H. Airey, superintendent for the Eastern Extension Cable Company at Hong-Kong, who Ims been on furlough in Now Zealand, will leave Wellington on March 18 bv the Manuka to connect with tho Eastern ,at Sydney for Hong-Kong.
Tho dejith occurred yesterday morning of Mr. Thomas Moxton Schofield, at the residence of his brother, Mr. A. Schofield. Emerson Street, Petone, as a result of an attack of acute bronchitis.
Having accepted the position of sccretarv to the Wangaiiui Harbour Board, Mr. AV. J. Gardner yesterday resigned from the position of secretary and treasurer to the Fetone Eire Board, in expressing the regret which the board felt in accepting the resignation, several members referred to the chaos from which Mr. Gardner had redeemed the board's records, and many complimentary remarks were made on the way he had carried out his duties. Mr. W. Rturmnn was appointed to succeed Mr. Gardner.
Mr. W. B. Hudson, late secretary of the. Government Life Insurance Department. is leaving on a trip to England bv the Northumberland 1 to-morrow.
Owing to ill-health, Mr. C. E-. Smith told the I'etone Fire Board yesterday that it would probably be his last appearance at tho board's meeting--!. He has been ordered to go away for «. rest bv his medical adviser, and it is his intention to visit California, nnd probably London. Mr. Smith has been with the board nraetivjallv sincc its inception. The board decided to mako a special record of its appreciation of Mr. Smiths services.

Mr.' John Murray, Deputy-Commis-sioner of Stamps at Dunediii, has been unpointed to t\ similar position at Christchurch, in succession to the late Mr. J. P. Murphy. Mr. Murray has been If) vears in the service, and was stationed'ill Wellington until WIG. He was a member of the executive of the \\ ellington Ens'by Union. Mr. 11. H. Bourke, of tl\p Nelson office, succeeds Mr. Murray at Dunedin.
