CRICKET
I MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. A special meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association was held last night. Mr. U. M'Kenzie was in the chair. Tho junior representative match against Canterbury at Eastcrtime is to be played at Anderson Park, Kelburn Park being otherwise engaged. A deputation, consisting of Messrs. lv. Murphy and.J. Lynam, waited on the committee with regard to junior cricket. Mr. Murphy said the association would have to pay more attention to lower grado cricket generally, and he gave ms ideas of how. improvements could bo made. Mr. Lynam said that lower grado cricket was seething with discontent. The chairman said that though the junior and third-class players thought the association was not doing its best for them, in reality it was doing just as much for them as for the seniors. A motion was carried thanking Messrs. Murphy and Lynam for their suggestions, and they were appointed a subcommittee to bring forward suggestions for improving junior and third-class cricket next season. . The meeting endorsed the following resolution of the Junior Selection Committee :-"That it bo n recommendation to the Cricket Association that a junior representative match, representative- of the junior A and B grndeß, to played on March 17, St. Patrick's Day, and that •the representative team to play Canterbury Juniors be selected at tho close of the match." The following teams have been selected :-Jnnior A—R. Murphy, r C. Murphy, H. Murphy, K. Demuth, Morftin, V. Harris, Good, S. Smith, King, Hopkins, D. Binnie; emergencies, Lynam, Hutchings. Junior B-Kerr, Thirkwcl, Shenahan, Guise, Henderson, Redmond, Smith, White, Edmonds, M'Cardcll, Martin; emergencies, W. Christopherson, Lowe, Wylie. Any player unable to participate is asked to communicate with Mr. Redmond, of tho Y.M.C.A. FIXTURES. Fixtures and grounds for Saturday are as under:— , Seniors—East r.
