SOUTH AFRICAN ELECTIONS
PARTY ISSUES. (Bee. March 9, 7.20 p.m.) Cape Town," 'March 8. The general election takes place on Wednesday, but the final results are not exractcd till the end of the week. Thero are four narties in the field, three South African Partv Unionists on-one side and the Nationalists on the other, making the Remibiican agitation the main. issue, whereas the Labour Party, though condemning tho agitation and offering lovaltv to the Constitution, professes .to believe it a side-issue, and is concentratintr on profiteering and the cost of living. It is impossible to forecast the result with' any approach to accuracy, but the general expectation is that the Nationalists and tho Labour Party will gain a number of suats.—Aus.-N.Z.
