BREACHES OF LICENSING LAW
By Telejtraoli—Press Association. Ashburton, March 5. Before Mr. M'Kean, S.M.. to-day, Gideon Scntt, charged with keeping liquor for sale, was convicted and fined . CijO, with the alternative of three months' imprisonment. On a further charge of selling liquor ho was fined .£25. with the alternative of two months' imprisonment. A plant of 4G bottle® of whisky was found hidden behind a sliding board in ;> wall. John Lafley, charged with purchasing liquor from Scott, was fined .£5. Dunedin, March 5. At the Court to-day, Charles .Tohn Heaglo was fined .£2O for sly grog-selling.
