ANZAC DAY AND THE PRINCE
• CEREMONY AT PALMEKSTON NORTH. The itinerary of the Prince of Wales provides for his being in Napier on Ansae Day (Sunday, April 25). That, it is pointed out, is in a sense fitting, as the ?th (Hawkc's Bay) Regiment is allied ; to the Princo of Wales's Volunteers ,' (South Lancashire). By simply holding the special Anzao Day ceremony at Palnierston' North on the succeeding day, the • Prince (who is 'to stop there for an hour en route to Wellington), could be present at the consecration of regimental colours presented in England by , His Majesty the King. The regiments which are to participate in the ceremonial Parade on Monday, April 26, are the sth (Wellington). 7th (Wellington and West Coast), 9th'(Hawke6 Bay), 11th (Tnranaki), and, 17th. (Riiahme). • These regiments have never met in this manner before in New Zealand, and as they now have the beginnings of traditional records to be proud of, there is sure to be marked interest m the event. It is a happy coincidence that will take tho Prince to Palmerston North on the mest auspicious anniversary celebration of Anzac Day which has yet been arranged. " ,
