INDUSTRIAL AGREEMENT MADE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Duncditi, February 29. Mr. W. H. Hagger presided over the • Conciliation Council on Saturday morning to hear the first dispute between the Dunedin Paper Mills Union and the New Zealand Paper Mills, I-td. After brief discussion an agreement was washed on all the points—mainly points affecting wages—which had not been settled at the nrevious conference between the parties. The employers' view that payment of females should be according to length of service, and not age, was ac°CThe award, which also binds the Mataura mills, will have currency to August 27. 1921. At a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants the following resolution was """We wish to place on record our hearty Eupport of other branches in protesting against the delay in announcing the result of th« recent inquiry into wages and conditions in the railway service and demand that the report ot the Judge bo made known and the Government s decision given at once.' The railwavmen at Penrose Workshops (Auckland) have passed a motion stronglv protesting against the delay of Mr. .Tiisti'ce Stringer's recommendation for increased pay, and pledging those present to support the executive council in any actbn taken.—Press Assn.
