FURNITURE TRADE "SOCIAL"
Last evening tho Wellington Fnrnituro and Furnishing Trade Industrial 'Union of Employers tendered a 6ocial to delegates attending tho New Zealand conference. There was a largo attendance, over which Mr. A. Monzica (president of the union) presided. The toast of "Visiting Delegates" was proposed by MivE. Collie and responded to by Mr. Mitoholl (Christohurch), who intimated to thoso present that he was about to proceed to Japan, India and Elirope in the interests of tho trade. Other visiting delegates briefly responded. Mr. J. E. Marshall (president of the Employers' Union) paid a high tribute to the secretary of the Employees' Union (Mr.'D. E. Kennedy), and Mr. J. Hinds Teplied on behalf of the employees union, stating that it was always the deBire of tho union to work in harmony with tho employers. Many other toasts were honoured. Musical items woro a feature of the evening.
